In 1951, Brother Fred Brady and Brother John P. Glore became conscious of the need for a church in the Corner community. After much prayer and visitation, it was decided to start a mission. In October of 1951, the mission was started and was in the basement of Brother H.H. Standards store. Services were held for several months there and then moved to the old Corner School House Building.
On September 7, 1952 Corner Baptist Church was organizes and constituted as a Missionary Baptist Church. Brother A.W. Skelton acted as moderator and there were 19 charter members. Brother Fred Brady was elected as the first pastor. On October 5, 1952 Brother Fred Brady was ordained as minister and Brother Vernon L. Smith as deacon. The first baptismal service was held on November 21, 1952 in Mr. H.L. Walkers Lake, 10 were baptized. In September of 1953, Reverend J.T. Huckaba was elected as pastor. February of 1954, Brother Wade Bullard donated one acre of land for construction of the church building. The first service was held in the new church building on August 1, 1954. The original church building built in 1954 consisted of the Sanctuary and basement beneath. In 1957, additional Sunday School rooms were added to across the back of the basement. In 1979, a second floor was added to the addition, providing room to lengthen the sanctuary and add new Sunday School rooms, nursery, restrooms, and a pastor's study. The Pastorium and Fellowship Building were built in 1967. A 1991 addition to the Fellowship Building doubled it's size. The current appearance of the Sanctuary and Sunday School rooms date to January-March of 1997, when major restoration and remodeling was necessitated by two incidents of vandalism to the Church, Fellowship Building, and Pastorium in November of 1996.
